New trick, new shoes, new medicine

Henry has a new trick - sitting in the Exercaucer!
He loves to look at himself in the hippo mirror - he must know what a stud he is!

If you were at Community Covenant Church today, chances are Frankie showed you his new shoes. He's always been super "into" shoes (it was one of his first words) and was delighted to wear new shoes today! I swear he said, "I got shoes!"

After 5 days of ear-piercing screams, Henry was prescribed reflux medicine. Of course, it tastes like peppermint so he hates it! We're hoping getting the reflux under control will help him start gaining weight again (he's dropped off in the last month, just at the same age Frankie did) and bring back our smiley boy!

TGIM!

Thank God It's Monday! When Daddy works the weekend night shift (plus his regular schedule), we're all ready for a day off! The kids enjoyed rockin' to the oldies with Dad (Lexi loves to "tell the witch doctor I'm in love with you"!) and Mom got a much needed stress-releasing run (in the rain!).

Suck Away!

Henry is officially a "finger sucking baby". Like big brother, Frankie, he can now often be found with his right hand in his mouth. Rarely the thumb, though, he prefers the first two (and sometimes even three!) fingers! While I'm sure this'll come back to haunt us in a few years, for now it's super cute!

Apple Time!

This weekend we went to Frank's great-uncle, Hale's, farm to pick apples. My grandpa had been looking forward to the trip and could hardly contain his anticipation. Everyone got lots of apples and had a great time!

Lexi's best friend, Kristian, and his family came with us again this year. Also, Frank's cousin brought her family. Lexi enjoyed playing with her new cousin, Hunter!

First day of school

Today was Lexi's first day of preschool and Frankie's first day of Kids' Day Out. Lexi woke me up at 7:40, fully dressed, backpack in hand (although school didn't start until 9:00). Frankie was a bit more subdued!

Ready to learn!

Not to be left out, Henry was looking especially cute in the "big boy umbrella stroller" at Antioch Park on Sunday!

Huzzah!

On a whim we went to the KC Renaissance Festival for the first time. The kids rode rides, pet animals, saw fire jugglers, and Lexi was even chosen to dance in the ring with a fairy! What a magical day!
