The Greatest Show on Earth!

We're teaching the kids that they can do anything they put their mind to. So, when Lexi decided she wanted to learn to make balloon animals, I checked out a book from the library and bought some balloons. Of course, before I can teach her, I have to learn myself! Here are my first two creations with many more to come! What a fun activity for us to do together!

Grandma's getting in on the fun, too! Lexi loves to look through Grandma's decades-old button collection (just like I did as a child) and practices sewing some on scrap cloth. Grandma's so patient with her and Lexi carries around the button-scrap for days afterwards!

Park Fun With Aunt Kate!

I've been good friends with Katie since I taught in Olathe. We met at the park for pizza last night and even squeezed in some motorized Jeep action! Lexi & Halee played so well together! Can you believe Henry's actually a week older (& 3 lbs lighter!) than Hunter?!

We love you, Aunt Kate!

Wow! Windows!

In just 24 hours we got a door, windows, and have stacks of shingles on the roof! We're cruisin' now!

Drive by & check it out! (K-7 to College Blvd. West on College Blvd just past the police station to the Prairie Brook entrance on the right. Turn right at the fountain & then again immediately onto Barth Rd. We're the 7th house on the right - 10971 S. Barth Rd)

Henry's 1st Haircut

Henry tolerated his first haircut! Nana made him look like such a big boy!

Cousin Meghan came for dinner. She's always a hit and Mom enjoys the break! I'll trade home-cooked food for child-entertainment any day!

"Gimme a C . . . Gimme an O . . ." TAKE TWO!

After the first buyers lost their loan 18 days before we were to move, we sold our house again just 4 days after being put back on the market. Everything seems to check out fine with this buyer so we, once again, have a contract!

The new house is coming right along. The framers are just about done (they've even framed in our master bathtub!) and we're gearing up for the electricians!

Not So "Sleepy" Sleepover

Cousin Maddie stayed the night at our house for the first time Easter Sunday. It was her first sleepover anywhere but she did great - Lexi, however, was so excited she didn't fall asleep until after 10pm!

Run, Forest, Run

I (Andrea) ran my third 1/2 marathon Saturday - funny how I see that as a fun early Saturday morning activity but the thought of running a full marathon is, to me, ludicrous!

My goal was to finish in under hours and I made it in 1:54:55. Not bad!

And, because I've promised to never publish a post without at least one picture, here are a few (of the kids - NOT of me after finishing the race!).

Cousins!

Shelley, Maddie, and Jack are in town for Easter. While it certainly requires extra effort, it's definitely worth any chaos. Frankie's obsessed with Jack and, of course, Lexi and Maddie are inseparable!

Wichita or Bust

When we told Lexi we couldn't go to Wichita because of the freak March snow storm she was devastated. Against our better judgement, we assumed clear Olathe roads meant roads would be fine the whole way down - WRONG! With God's guiding hand we made it safely and had a wonderful weekend!
