Yo Ho Let's Go!

Today was Henry's birthday party and we "finished" the basement just in time!  Twelve of his best friends helped him celebrate and, while he wasn't a big fan of being in the spotlight, he had a fun time!

Highlights:

1) The rest of the Kids' Day Out "Three Musketeers" came!  It was a blond boy reunion!
2) Hunting for gold coins "Easter Egg style" (Thanks, Shanna, for hiding all 144 coins!)
3) Treasure hunting for party favors
4) Cannon ball fight (minus the five balloons that popped immediately in the grass before swiftly moving the game inside!)
5) Pirate ship pinata demolished by Kristian

Colorado Cousins . . . Take 3!

We just got back from our annual summer trek to Denver!  As the kids get older they get much easier to travel with and them memories they make each year are even more vivid!

Pool fun!

Something to look forward to

My goal is to do one special outing each week this summer.  So far, so good!

1) Memorial Day picnic & fishing

Pre-fishing at the pond

2) Ice cream (with toppings!)
Ice cream store!

3) Lexi's had or gone to a sleepover each week.  No way she can keep that up but, for now, she's basking in the glory of being almost 7!

4) Picnic at the coolest park in Lenexa with friends all the way from Omaha

We had a great morning at Wonderscope . . .

Face painting

. . . until Henry face-planted into a set of metal stairs and sliced open his lip and tongue.

The big kids were a lot of help as I frantically tried to stop the blood (and screaming!).  Frankie repeated, "It's alright.  Frankie's here," the whole way home and they even let him watch Dora!
