On Growing Up . . .

As a kid, I couldn't wait to grow up! Thinking that was the norm, I asked Lexi if she wished she was a grown up (since she's so convinced that she's growing taller daily and thinks she looks at least 5 now).

She was quick to shoot that down. She doesn't want to be a grown-up because grown-ups have to:

a. Get spit up on
b. Take care of all that crying
c. Watch the news

Our little marionette!

Henry wants to walk. ALL THE TIME! To save our backs we bought a walking sling. You can tell he loves it!

Chicken, Airplane, Soldier!

Lexi and her best girl friend, Keira, are in swim lessons this Spring Break. When we got in the car after the first lesson Lexi said, "Mom, you gotta call Grandma. Swim lessons are AWESOME!"

If I can't have it, no one will!

Frankie was too excited to even eat when Daddy set up the T-ball set this afternoon. Notice how he thinks he's invisible behind the clear glass door! (Don't worry, though, Lexi got plenty of turns while the boys were in the bathtub!)

On another note, here's the conversation we had with Lexi after dinner:

Background: A week ago Frank & Lexi bought ice cream and apparently he talked her into a lowfat variety.

Lexi: Is this the half fat ice cream? Is the pink stuff the fat?

Mom: No, the pink stuff is strawberry.

Note to all ice cream manufacturers: New flavor idea = vanilla ice cream with swirls of lard (as long as they're pink!)

Spring?

At the first hint of warmer weather (ie: Mom can finally run without dressing like the Abominable Snowman!), we went outside to enjoy the sun!

Happy Henry in the swing

"Being outside is so cool, I have to spaz out!"

Owie, Ma!

Ahhh, life with boys!

While riding Lexi's toddler princess car in the basement, Frankie ran into a mirror. It shattered on his head and we rushed to the doctor. After an agonizing hour and so many tears he finally fell asleep on the table, Frankie emerged with 5 staples and 3 stitches.

He's doing well but is definitely more cuddly than usual!

Happy Birthday, Great-Grandpa

After some confusion over who exactly was having a birthday (Frankie really wanted it to be Papa Pete!), Lexi got on board making a cake she'd seen in one of my cooking magazines. Of course, spending time with cousins makes any occasion a happy one!
