Not a baby anymore

Henry turned four this weekend and, it's official, no babies around here.  Well, we still have the whining and fussiness of babies but, technically speaking . . . No babies!

We had a basement full of friends and family for pinata fun and cake before walking to the neighborhood pool!

All of the attention was hard on him but he still had a great time!

Flight delayed

We'd just gotten to our gate here at the Denver airport when they announced our 2+ hour delay. Ugh. 

We told Henry, "We have bad news. We have to sit here at the airport for 3 more hours. The good news is that you'll get McDonalds for dinner and you can ride the moving sidewalk with Daddy." 

Henry processed it for a second and said, "Okay, what's the bad news?" 

We had a wonderful time and I'm sure we'll be home soon. In the meantime, if you see a little boy running on the escalator at DIA, let him pass... We'll be here awhile! 

Park fun x8!

We met the wonderful Clark family at the park on Tuesday.  Lexi and Kristian chatted about recently found box turtles and the boys loved playing with Kristian and Kaden.  I tried to keep kids from falling off the zipline while Jesse and Matt chased after their youngest three.  Yes, you're counting correctly - 8 kids between the two families!  Needless to say, two of the three parents in attendance don't get much sleep!

Magical Garden Party

Today was the long-awaited Book Club Garden Party!  Lexi and three of her friends read and answered comprehension questions about The Lost Flower Children as their first Summer Book Club selection.  As the culminating activity, we had a surprise Garden Party in the gorgeous Carden Garden.  My wonderful aunt had made stunning fairy headbands for each girl.  My pseudo-aunt, Debby, gave each girl a pot of mint (the moms are looking forward to mojitos!).  The girls were able to actually discuss the book, thanked all of the adults so politely, and even let the boys jump into a picture!  Success!
