Watch Out World!

Fourteen months, to the day, Henry took his first steps. Less than 30 minutes later, he was walking across the room (with a little motivation, of course!).

Whirlwind Weekend!

We had a weekend of family fun that started Friday morning! We'd rented a moonwalk for the weekend parties and the Spiecker cousins came to jump before Kindergarten on Friday. An afternoon of pool and pizza filled the time after school.

Saturday morning (after several hectic hours solving the mystery of the blown fuse in the moonwalk blower!) was Lexi's much-belated birthday party complete with balloon animals, a soda toss, and duck pond. I was too busy tying balloons to take many pictures but my sister got several!

Saturday evening was more jumping during the Open House. No pictures because we were too busy greeting almost 100 people who came over in 5 hours!

Sunday we celebrated the life of our much-loved and missed Papa Pete. It was a wonderful tribute to one of the best men I've ever known!

First Day!

Lexi started afternoon Kindergarten last week and even gets to ride the bus (less than 1/2 mile but it still counts!). She likes her teacher and is already making friends!

We're In!

No pictures, I apologize! I promised I'd never post without pictures! But we have no home internet yet so this has to be quick! We're in the new house with tons of help from our parents and great friend, Matt! Stop by any time!!

Tough Ol' Bird

To borrow a phrase from my father-in-law, my Grandpa Pete is a "tough ol' bird"! Despite a broken pelvis and wide-spread cancer, he's holding his own in Delmar Gardens nursing home. Henry and I visited this morning and he was up, dressed, and recognized us coming down the hall! He has periods of confusion and some hours are certainly better than others but he's still making us laugh!

He was disappointed to hear that we're moving tomorrow because he said, "I won't be able to help you too much!" Ah, Gramps, we were saving all of the heavy lifting for you!

He wasn't hearing very well today so we just sat and watched Henry crawl around the room. He told my mom later in the day that he needs his other hearing aid. Since he already had both in, he said, "Then I guess I need three!"

Papa Pete, we'll sure miss you when you go but, until then, keep the jokes coming!

"Our" Gardners

The landscaping company was installing our shrubs and trees today, making it look even better! Lexi saw the men working so hard n the 95 degree heat and Lexi said, "Is that our new gardener?" Uh, no, Darling!

Dentist Disaster

Monday was Frankie's first dentist appointment. He'd been feeding off Lexi's intense excitement for days but, when it was his turn in the chair, decided nothing was worth the prize, balloon, and ice cream waiting at the end! He ended up letting the dentist check him out briefly from the safety of Daddy's lap!
