Happy Birthday, Henry!

Today we celebrated Henry's 1st birthday (actually was Wednesday) with pizza at Antioch Park. Just a family party (we consider the Clarks family) and Henry's godmother, "Miss Dee". It was awfully hot so we kept things short but nothing says "birthday" like melting cupcakes and hungry ducks! Happy Birthday, Henry!

The interior paint at the new house is done and everything is stained. The driveway is poured & they started the tile work today! It looks awesome!

The Beach!

We spent the evening at the Whispering Hills beach (aka: the "ocean"!) with the Clark family. Frankie loved running into the water and showing off for Matt. Lexi and Kristian built an intricate canal system and Henry just crawled around in the sand. Aside from having to wash sand from everything when we got home, a great time was had by all!

Frankie's done so well with potty training - he hasn't worn diapers during the day for a full week now and, at the restaurant tonight, even told me when he had to go - unprompted!

Maybe even better . . . 2 days before he turns 1, Henry's officially weaned! The pump is packed away and, after 44 consecutive months, Andrea is thrilled to be neither pregnant nor nursing (or both!)!

Other exciting news - the interior of the house is all painted (trim and walls), cabinetry is stained, and we have a driveway! Next comes granite and tile!

Resident Nudist

We're much farther than I thought we'd be on Day 3 of potty training! As long as he's naked, Frankie's potty trained! He stops playing without being reminded, sits on the potty, dumps it, and resumes play all by himself. Mom's a bit gun-shy about adding underwear to the equation, though. So, for now, watch out for the 2 year old nudist on Cricket Lane!

Honesty gets results

At breakfast this morning, Frankie had apple slices and dry Golden Grahams. He asked for ketchup too but balked when I suggested he was going to dip either the apples or cereal in it (like that was ridiculous!). He was so honest when he held up his index finger and said, "I dip finger!" Hey, honesty works around here . . . he got the ketchup! Breakfast of champions, right?

Papa's Home!

Papa rode into Eudora on the last leg on his 19th BAK trip (Biking Across Kansas) and the grandkids came out in full force to greet him! There's nothing better than Papa, hotdogs, ice cream, and tents! Welcome Home, Papa!

These pictures are actually a bit old already! As of Wednesday, the trim in the new house is done (and beautiful!) If the house had air conditioning, I'd move in tomorrow! Next is paint and then granite countertops! We're so excited!

While you were at Hannah's graduation party, we saw this baby fawn in Grandma's yard. He didn't move for a long time, even when we got close enough to take these pictures! He was gone by the time you got home but, with all of Grandma's delicious plants, he'll be back!

Wichita or Bust!

We packed three full days of fun into our Wichita weekend and made plans to go back in 3 weeks! Two parks, an afternoon at the zoo, and plenty of cousin-time! There's nothing better than cousins!
